Scenario role-playing

Organizations must anticipate future challenges if they are to prepare themselves ahead of time. But that is much easier said than done. For several networks of decision-makers, activists, and aid workers, we:

  1. Interviewed participants to understand the concerns playing on their minds

  2. Workshoped the day-to-day dynamics they were grappling with

  3. Wrote scenarios that posed gripping, realistic problems in narrative form

  4. Role-played these scenarios with participants, probing their likely reactions

  5. Extracted recommendations on practical steps they could take to prepare themselves
