In the midst of a crisis, time seems to accelerate, information overwhelms, and threats paralyze. To assist a European embassy trying to keep up with the fast-changing environment of Lebanon in late 2019, we:
Understood how embassy staff consumed and shared information via WhatsApp
Designed a card format for key updates that could easily work with these channels
Translated our fieldwork and analysis into two or three cards daily, with recommendations
Convened in-person briefings with embassy staff, diving deeper into particular topics
Shared our methodology on crisis reporting with the public more broadly
