Hugh Laurence
Hugh is Synaps’ junior editor. He is involved in all stages of the writing cycle, from brainstorming to proofreading. He recently completed his BA in Philosophy and Politics at the University of Edinburgh, where he specialized in Middle Eastern history and the politics of sectarianism. He values the variety and depth of writing at Synaps and aims to develop his editorial skills through taking the lead in larger, more complex pieces as he progresses. He is also conducting his own research on historical memory among minority Lebanese communities and the diaspora.
